The idea for this trip started in the beginning of 2007. David brought it up and his daughters, Stacey and Teresa, immediately jumped on board. They all wanted to go on a crazy adventure together that included family, horses and camping. Finally all of their hard work and patience has paid off. This is it! This is “The Ride”!
Our general route is to start from Pierson, MB and make our way to White Rock, BC. There, Stacey will leave us and Dad and I will go on up through the Banff and Jasper National Parks. We will start the ride with the wagon. Once we get to Alberta, we will switch to just riding and packing the horses. Going this far creates a unique opportunity in that it is a Long Riders’ Guild recognized expedition. If we are successful on our trip, we could be eligible to join the LRG. They are a small group of people world wide who have completed 1000 miles in a single trip on horseback. Pretty cool!
